Mohamed Omar is a partner at Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy and a member of the Dispute Resolution practice group and heads the firm’s consumer goods and retail sector.   • Successful representation of an automotive manufacturer in connection with blocking claims before the local courts of USD 225 million involving procedural and substantive arguments relating to commercial agency/distribution relationship in Egypt. Successfully securing a jurisdiction judgment in this dispute from Cairo Economic Court, which constitutes a legal precedent in agency disputes.
  • Successful representation of a British international shoe manufacturer and retailer in connection with blocking claims before the local courts exceeding USD 45 million involving procedural and substantive arguments relating to commercial agency/distribution relationships in Egypt.
  • Representation of a German global leader in connection with the production of rigid plastic film solutions for primary packaging of products, by blocking claims in relation to an agency/distribution dispute. Claims were valued at USD 2.9 million.
