Matouk Bassiouny is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jirayr Habibian as the new Managing Partner of Matouk Bassiouny’s UAE office.
Jirayr, one of the top lawyers in the fields of corporate finance, trade finance, M&A transactions and capital markets across multiple jurisdictions including the UAE, Lebanon, Egypt and Armenia, brings in a wealth of experience and expertise to Matouk Bassiouny’s UAE practice. In addition to having prior experience with renowned international law firms, such as Squire Patton Boggs, he has held a variety of senior legal counsel roles with leading international banks including Investbank, Standard Chartered Bank and Lebanese Swiss Bank.
In addition to this, Jirayr was also responsible for designing and implementing multiple Anti Money Laundering and Compliance Risk Management processes in multiple major banking institutions, including Bank of Sharjah and Central Bank of Armenia. He is also a Founding and Board Member of ICC National Committee Armenia and was appointed as a Member of the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce.
